A central element of the roof is produced

The Poznań-based H. Cegielski company started producing the central element of the roof, a 70 meter long spire with a compartment for the retractable roof and frames for LED screens. The peak of the spire will be the highest point of the Stadium, approx. 112 meters above the Vistula River.

On 9 June 2010 a technical audit was conducted to check whether the company is ready to produce the element. The spire is to be completed in August 2010. This part of the roof will be installed together with the cable roof structure in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The steel structure of the roof is also being successfully installed at the National Stadium. 28 pillars and 20 elements of the inner ring truss have been already installed.

The stands at the Stadium will be constructed from prefabricated elements made of reinforced concrete with a ‘skin’, which does not require any finishing. The stands consist of 2114 prefabricated steps. One element weighs over 30 tons. Almost all the prefabricated elements have been produced. 2,000 elements have been produced so far. 46 % of the prefabricated elements have been completed on the upper and lower stands.

Stand elements are planned to be finished in July, which will make it possible to see the entire stands area but without seats and passages between the rows. They were produced by 5 companies from across Poland. The prefabricated elements are installed by Pekabex.

Finishing work, sanitary and mechanical and electrical installations, is in progress in the underground level.
