After closing the inner ring truss which marked the end of work on the main steel construction, constructing the roof of the National Stadium in Warsaw has entered a new phase.
Mostostal Zabrze has started joining elements, because of their shape known as ‘ones’, which together with the columns will form pylons. These elements are guy-wires and angle braces installed around the Stadium center. For safety and structural reasons they have to be installed simultaneously in three places on the opposite sides of the Stadium building.
The steel construction is built by the consortium Mostostal Zabrze, Cimolai and Hightex.
The installation of the ready-made components of the stands has been completed in the western part of the Stadium. At the same time, steel cables are being prepared for tensioning in a few places in the Stadium. The cables must be tensioned on the stands and connected with each other before lifting the roof construction.
Work has been conducted on the sanitary, mechanical and electric installations. Finishing work continues on the aluminum and glass elevation where glazing has started on the south-eastern side of the Stadium.
