On Thursday, August 5, 2010, at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, an annex to the agreement with the National Sports Centre was signed to assign the tasks relating to the preparation and implementation of the project, UEFA EURO 2012™ which will increase the activities of the NSC.
According to the agreement of December 23, 2008, the objective of the National Sports Centre was the construction of the National Stadium in Warsaw. The annex signed stipulated further tasks for the NSC:
1. those related to the preparation of the National Stadium for the organisation of UEFA EURO 2012 TM, pursuant to art. 13 par. 2 item 5) and 6) of the Act on Euro 2012.
2. those related to the management of the property for and on behalf of the National Treasury, pursuant to art. 13 par. 2 item 5) and 6) of the Act on Euro 2012.
- Selecting the National Sports Centre as the administrator of the National Stadium in Warsaw is a good solution, as the team is familiar with the facility, has experience in cooperating with UEFA, and the knowledge of how to manage the Stadium – says Mr. Adam Giersz, the Minister of Sports and Tourism.
- I am convinced that the National Sports Centre team will ensure the expert management of the National Stadium in Warsaw – says Mr. Rafał Kapler, the CEO of the National Sports Centre.
